Praying the Foundations of the Kingdom of God
In this day and age when the very nature of Biblical faith is being ferociously attacked and destroyed by the force of humanism, we really need to pray for the strengthening of our spiritual foundations in the Hebrew Scriptures. This is designed to help others to pray effectively from God’s word for the extension of His Kingdom in the nations. 40 short biblical studies are combined with ideas for scriptural prayer, equally suited for use by individuals or in small groups.
In this book, Penny Valentine draws on her extensive experience as a Bible teacher and intercessor to set out studies in Genesis and Exodus to help strengthen the foundations of God’s Kingdom in our own lives and in the nations, as we respond to God’s Word in prayer and intercession.
Like its predecessors (‘Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem’ and ‘Praying for Israel and the Arab Nations’), this book consists of 40 Biblical studies, each used as a springboard for prayer and intercession.
As we meditate on the great foundational truths of creation, covenant, and the unchanging character of God, we respond to Him first on a personal level. We can only extend His rule through prayer if we are prepared to accept it and submit to it in our own lives. From there we intercede for God’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done in our communities, our nations and the nations of the world – Israel of course included.
The Psalmist asks, “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3). The answer is, look to the One who is in control of everything – and pray.
